La presente Norma internazionale fa parte della serie IEC 60512 e riguarda le prove di sovraccarico elettrico su coppie di connettori accoppiati.
La norma descrive un metodo standard per verificare le prestazioni di una coppia di connettori con contatti uniti sotto un sovraccarico elettrico di corrente che passa attraverso di essi per un limitato periodo di tempo ( tra 100 ms e 20 s).
La procedura di prova si basa sulla misura dell’aumento di temperatura nell’intervallo di tempo specificato durante il periodo in cui il sovraccarico elettrico viene applicato ai contatti.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese, a causa della limitata utilizzazione, particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
