La prova descritta dalla presente Norma individua un metodo standardizzato per stabilire la resistenza meccanica delle connessioni non saldate di quei componenti elettromeccanici che rientrano nel campo di interesse del Comitato Tecnico 48, includendo altresì i dispositivi serracavo. La prova si applica ai componenti che abbiano una o più connessioni senza saldatura alle quali facciano capo conduttori singoli, cavi a nastro o cavi piatti flessibili. La prova viene condotta quando richiesta dalla specifica di dettaglio, e prevede due metodi alternativi: metodo distruttivo (normalmente usato su conduttori singoli) e metodo non distruttivo (di solito applicato ai cavi a nastro e ai cavi piatti).
