Questa Norma specifica le prescrizioni per gli apparecchi di illuminazione da incasso a terra che incorporano sorgenti luminose elettriche, previsti per funzionare con tensioni di alimentazione fino a 1000 V, per uso interno o esterno, ad esempio in giardini, cortili, strade carrabili, parcheggi per auto, piste ciclabili, percorsi pedonali, aree pedonali, aree attorno alle piscine con l'esclusione delle zone SELV, ambienti per bambini e applicazioni similari.
La presente Norma riporta il testo in inglese e italiano della EN 60598-2-13; rispetto al precedente fascicolo n. 8535E di ottobre 2006, essa contiene la traduzione completa della EN sopra indicata e, in aggiunta, il Corrigendum CENELEC del dicembre 2006 alla medesima EN.
