La Norma tratta le prove termiche sulle turbine a vapore: in proposito esistono due metodi.
Il metodo A, destinato alle turbine di grandi centrali, è caratterizzato da un’alta precisione delle misure.
Il metodo B, destinato alla generalità delle turbine, prevede una diversa e più flessibile metodologia di prove.
La presente Parte 2 della Norma tratta il suddetto metodo B, essendo inteso che dalla Norma vanno tratte quelle prescrizioni che meglio si attagliano alla specifica turbina in prova.
Sono anche comprese misure e procedure per determinare l’entalpia specifica nella regione d’umidità interessata, tenendo conto anche dei requisiti di sicurezza necessari per gli operatori di sala prova.
Nonostante la varietà del campo di applicazione, il pregio della Norma è di consentire una unificazione dei criteri di preparazione, esecuzione e valutazione della prova.
