La presente Norma fa parte della serie 61988, che si occupa dei dispositivi di visualizzazione al plasma ed in particolare questo documento riguarda i metodi di prove meccaniche e climatiche per questi dispositivi.
Nella Norma vengono quindi definiti i metodi di prova per valutare la capacità di resistenza dei visualizzatori al plasma alle sollecitazioni meccaniche ed agli agenti atmosferici e climatici.
In particolare vengono descritte le condizioni atmosferiche di riferimento, le condizioni di immagazzinamento,. l’immagazzinamento ad alta e bassa temperatura, le prove di caldo umido ciclico e stabile, le prove a bassa temperatura, le prove a bassa pressione, le prove di vibrazioni e di urto.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
