La presente Parte 3 della serie EN/IEC 60909 si applica alle correnti di cortocircuito nei sistemi trifasi in corrente alternata.
Essa specifica una procedura per il calcolo delle correnti di cortocircuito presunte di un circuito squilibrato in un sistema trifase di alta tensione in corrente alternata a frequenze da 50 Hz a 60 Hz.
La Norma in oggetto sostituisce completamente la Norma CEI EN 60909-3:2005-05, che rimane applicabile fino al 01-03-2013.
La presente Norma viene utilizzata congiuntamente alla Norma CEI EN 60909-0:2001-12.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
