La presente Norma fa parte della serie EN 60730 che riguarda i dispositivi elettrici automatici di comando per le apparecchiature elettriche di uso domestico e similare.
In particolare questa pubblicazione si occupa dei motoprotettori termici per motocompressori di tipo ermetico e semi ermetico.
La norma si applica a motoprotettori termici per motocompressori che usano termistori NTC o PTC.
Essa inoltre è valida per motoprotettori da usare con motori aventi una tensione nominale uguale o minore di 690 V ed una potenza di uscita uguale o minore di 11 kW.
La Norma non si applica ai motoprotettori termici destinati esclusivamente ad applicazioni industriali.
Essa deve essere usata congiuntamente alla CEI EN 60730-1:2002 e sue varianti.
La presente Norma riporta il testo in inglese e italiano della EN 60730-2-4; rispetto al precedente fascicolo n. 9276E di aprile 2008, essa contiene la traduzione completa della EN sopra indicata.
