La presente Norma è applicabile alla generazione, trasporto e distribuzione di energia elettrica. Essa fornisce il nome e i simboli letterali di grandezze ed unità di misura.
Nella Norma sono indicate inoltre le regole per la gestione di pedici multipli e loro successione. Poichè tale Norma è complementare alla EN/IEC 60027-1, i simboli letterali già presenti in quest’ultima sono ripetuti soltanto se hanno un significato speciale nell’ambito della generazione, trasporto e distribuzione di energia elettrica oppure se sono utilizzati in tale campo con pedici particolari.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
La presente Norma recepisce il testo originale inglese della Pubblicazione IEC.
