La Norma contiene i principi e i requisiti per la competenza, la coerenza e l’imparzialità dell’audit e della certificazione dei sistemi di gestione di tutti i tipi (per esempio sistemi di gestione per la qualità o sistemi di gestione ambientale) e per gli organismi che forniscono questa attività.
Gli organismi di certificazione operanti secondo la Norma non sono tenuti ad offrire tutti i tipi di certificazione di sistema di gestione.
Gli organismi conformi alla presente Norma sono organismi di valutazione della conformità di terza parte.
La Norma in oggetto sostituisce completamente la Norma CEI UNI EN ISO/IEC 17021:2008-10, che rimane applicabile fino al 31-08-2011.
La presente Norma riporta il testo in inglese e italiano della EN ISO/IEC 17021; rispetto al precedente fascicolo n. 11260E di aprile 2011, essa contiene la traduzione completa della EN sopra indicata.
