Questa Norma si applica a cavi di strumentazione e controllo schermati e non schermati impiegati a bordo di navi e unità fuori costa (off-shore). I cavi hanno isolamento solido estruso con caratteristiche di tensione pari a 150/250 V (300 V) e sono destinati a installazioni fisse.
Scopo di questa Norma è quello di normalizzare I cavi la cui sicurezza e affidabilità sono assicurate quando sono installati in conformità con le prescrizioni della Norma IEC 60092-352 e specificare metodi di prova per verificare la conformità con tali prescrizioni.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
