La Guida fornisce raccomandazioni per l'uso, in condizioni di sicurezza, dei cavi elettrici impiegati per rotabili ferroviari, metropolitani, filotramviari e similari ed ha lo scopo di orientare gli utilizzatori sulle proprietà e sui limiti di impiego degli stessi onde evitarne un uso improprio.
I cavi devono essere usati soltanto per lo scopo e nei modi indicati dalla presente norma e dalla norma CEI 20-17.
La presente Guida costituisce la ristampa senza modifiche, secondo il nuovo progetto di veste editoriale, della Guida pari numero ed edizione (Fascicolo 1957 G).
