La presente Norma definisce le prescrizioni tecniche del controllo degli effluenti radioattivi, per il quale le autorità nazionali definiscono le circostanze nelle quali è obbligatorio. La Norma definisce inoltre le prescrizioni tecniche di detto controllo, fornisce una guida generale relativa alle ipotizzabili sensibilità e condizioni di funzionamento di tali apparecchiature ed indica i casi nei quali possono essere usate.
