La presente Norma tratta di una prova destinata a simulare una connessione surriscaldata; si deve considerare il progetto della connessione e la corrente passante attraverso di essa in normali condizioni d'uso, in modo da valutare il rischio di incendio per mezzo di una simulazione tecnica. La prova è solo destinata ad essere applicata alle connessioni a vite che l'utilizzatore o l'installatore devono fare durante l'installazione, il servizio o la manutenzione dell'equipaggiamento e che sono perciò fuori dal controllo del costruttore.
La presente Norma costituisce la ristampa senza modifiche, secondo il nuovo progetto di veste editoriale, della Norma pari numero ed edizione (Fascicolo 1221).
