Questa Norma si occupa degli apparecchi elettrici portatili e trasportabili per la rilevazione e la misura dell'ossido di carbonio e dell'anidride carbonica in ambienti chiusi. In particolare essa specifica i requisiti per la costruzione, prova e verifica delle prestazioni di tali apparecchi.
Queste apparecchiature comprendono i sistemi meccanici di ventilazione in residenze domestiche, edifici pubblici ed industriali.
Esempi sono: sistemi di monitoraggio della qualità dell’aria, sistemi di rilevazione della concentrazione di CO e/o CO2 in cucine e lavanderie.
Sono esclusi apparecchi per la rilevazione di gas e vapori tossici ed analizzatori elettronici portatili dei gas di combustione.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
