La presente Norma descrive le procedure di prova per la valutazione della durata elettrica dei sistemi di isolamento utilizzati nelle macchine elettriche rotanti, sia in corrente alternata che in corrente continua, con avvolgimenti preformati.
La Norma si applica principalmente ai sistemi di isolamento di macchine raffreddate ad aria, ma può estendersi anche a parti di isolamento di macchine raffreddate a idrogeno.
