La presente Parte 1 della Norma IEC 60071 (Norma principale) tratta il coordinamento dell'isolamento dei sistemi trifasi in c.a. con tensioni superiori a 1 kV.
Essa specifica la procedura per la scelta delle tensioni di tenuta assegnate normalizzate per l'isolamento fase-terra, tra le fasi e longitudinale per le apparecchiature e per le installazioni.
I principi della presente Norma si applicano anche all'isolamento delle linee di trasmissione dell'energia elettrica anche se i valori delle tensioni di tenuta possono essere diversi da quelli normalizzati.
La presente Norma riporta il testo in inglese e italiano della EN 60071-1; rispetto al precedente fascicolo n. 8406E di agosto 2006, essa contiene la traduzione completa della EN sopra indicata.
