La presente Norma si riferisce alla sicurezza agli attuatori per muovere cancelli, porte e finestre sia verticalmente che orizzontalmente. L'utilizzo è in ambito domestico con tensione nominale non superiore a 250 V per gli apparecchi monofase monofase e 480 V per tutti gli altri apparecchi.
La norme copre anche i rischi associati al movimento della parte azionata, definita come parte mobile del cancello, porta o finestra, sia di tipo avvolgibile, che a scorrimento verticale o orizzontale, a rotazione incernierata orizzontalmente o verticalmente.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
