Questa norma fa parte della serie EN 60335 riguardante la sicurezza degli apparecchi elettrici di uso domestico e similare ed in particolare si occupa della sicurezza elettrica degli elettrolizzatori.
Gli elettrolizzatori sono apparecchi che, usando un opportuno elettrolita, producono liquidi ionizzati a bassa viscosità che vengono usati per il lavaggio senza detersivo in applicazioni domestiche e similari.
Gli elettrolizzatori possono essere incorporati ad esempio, in lavastoviglie e lavabiancheria.
La norma contiene inoltre due allegati: uno per le prove di invecchiamento delle parti in materiale elastomerico ed uno per le specifiche aggiuntive nel caso di apparecchi con elettrolizzatori incorporati.
La tensione nominale di questi apparecchi non deve superare i 250 V.
La presente Norma viene utilizzata congiuntamente alla Norma CEI EN 60335-1:2008-07.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
