La presente Norma riporta le specifiche ed i metodi di prova per oli minerali isolanti nuovi, allo stato di fornitura, destinati all'uso in cavi a circolazione d'olio. Questi comprendono cavi a conduttore interno cavo, cavi contenuti in tubo ed altri tipi di cavi nei quali l'olio possa fluire al loro interno. Gli oli oggetto della presente norma sono ottenuti dalla distillazione e dalla raffinazione di petrolio. Gli oli con o senza aggiunta di additivi rientrano nella presente norma, che non si applica agli oli minerali isolanti per trasformatori, apparecchiature di manovra, condensatori e simili apparecchi elettrici, né a idrocarburi liquidi isolanti ottenuti per sintesi.
La presente norma costituisce la ristampa senza modifiche, secondo il nuovo progetto di veste editoriale, della Norma pari numero ed edizione (Fascicolo 1584).
