La Norma si applica ai Terminali a Onde Convogliate (O.Cv.) a Banda Laterale Unica (BU) utilizzati per la trasmissione di informazioni sulle Linee ad Alta tensione (AT). Ha lo scopo di fissare i valori raccomandati per le grandezze di entrata e di uscita dei terminali a O.Cv. a banda laterale unica nonché di fornire le definizioni necessarie alla comprensione delle suddette raccomandazioni. Tutte le prove di verifica della conformità alle prescrizioni verranno considerate prove di tipo secondo la definizione fornita dal Vocabolario Elettrotecnico Internazionale (IEV 151-04-15). Definisce due modelli di apparecchiature a O.Cv. destinati a due diverse applicazioni: il terminale standard ed il terminale misto.
La presente Norma costituisce la ristampa senza modifiche, secondo il nuovo progetto di veste editoriale, della Norma pari numero ed edizione (Fascicolo 2626 E).
