La presente Norma è usata per collaudare i connettori che rientrano nel dominio di attività del Comitato Tecnico 48 o dispositivi similari, quando le specifiche di dettaglio lo richiedono. L'oggetto della Norma è la specifica di un metodo di prova in grado di determinare il valore della resistenza parallelo a radiofrequenza che degrada il fattore di qualità di un circuito con induttori e condensatori (circuiti L/C), quando un connettore è connesso in parallelo. Questo valore è espresso in termini di resistenza di smorzamento parallelo.
