Questa parte della EN/IEC 60641 fornisce i requisiti per carta pressata per usi elettrici composta al 100% da pasta di cellulosa al solfato, al 100% da cotone o da una miscela di pasta di cellulosa al solfato e di cotone.
I principali cambiamenti rispetto alla precedente edizione sono: il tipo P.6 è stato sostituito con un nuovo tipo, ma la denominazione è stata mantenuta, il tipo P.7 è stato soppresso, la relazione degli spessori delle proprietà è stata semplificata ed i valori sono stati adeguati alle esigenze attuali degli utenti.
La Norma in oggetto sostituisce completamente la Norma CEI EN 60641-3-2:1999-04, che rimane applicabile fino al 01-04-2011.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
