La presente Norma prende in considerazione gli ambienti industriali corrosivi ed erosivi, a cui i sistemi di misurazione e controllo dei processi industriali, terrestri o in mare aperto, possono essere esposti durante il funzionamento, durante periodi in cui sono installati ma inattivi, durante l’immagazzinamento o il trasporto. Le condizioni in cui si effettuano la manutenzione e le riparazioni sono escluse dalla presente Norma. Lo scopo della presente Norma consiste nel fornire agli utilizzatori e ai fornitori di sistemi di misura e controllo dei processi industriali un elenco uniforme ed una classificazione delle condizioni ambientali corrosive ed erosive.
