La presente Norma costituisce la versione consolidata della norma base EN 60730-2-16 (CEI 72-10:2000) , della Modifica 1 (compresa nella CEI 72-10:2000) e della Modifica 2:2001 e relative EC e permette la sua lettura congiuntamente alla EN 60730-1:2000 (CEI 72-2:2002). E' stata decisa questa veste editoriale allo scopo di facilitare la consultazione della Norma all'utente finale.
Si riferisce alla sicurezza intrinseca, ai valori di funzionamento, alle sequenze di funzionamento a cui essi sono associati.
Si applica ai dispositivi di comando individuali utilizzati come parte di un sistema di comando o ai dispositivi di comando che sono meccanicamente integrati nei dispositivi di comando multifunzione con uscite non elettriche.
La presente Norma é annullata e sostituita dalla Nuova Norma, CEI EN 60730-2-15:2011-05 (CEI 72-4), tuttavia rimane applicabile fino al 1-03-2013.
