La presente Norma fa parte della serie EN/IEC 60745 riguardante la sicurezza degli utensili elettrici a motore portatili, ed in particolare si occupa della sicurezza delle seghe elettriche circolari con lama circolare dentata rotante; sono invece escluse le seghe che montano mole abrasive per il taglio.
Vengono riportate le condizioni per il taglio del legno e del metallo.
Questa Norma è allineata alla Direttiva Macchine 2006/42/EC (Allegato ZZ).
La Norma deve essere usata congiuntamente alla CEI EN 60745-1:2010-05.
La Norma in oggetto sostituisce completamente la CEI EN 60745-2-5:2008-01, che rimane applicabile fino al 01-10-2013.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
La presente Norma recepisce il testo originale inglese della Pubblicazione IEC.
