La presente Norma si applica alla registrazione e/o alla riproduzione magnetica video con videocassette da 12,65 mm su videoregistratori a scansione elicoidale utilizzati per le trasmissioni. Specifica due modi di registrazione. Il MODO I utilizza un nastro con ossidi; il MODO II utilizza un nastro con particelle metalliche e permette la registrazione di segnali audio in modulazione di frequenza (FM). Definisce le caratteristiche elettriche e meccaniche delle apparecchiature che permetteranno l’intercambiabilità delle cassette registrate. I requisiti forniti sono relativi ai sistemi a 525 linee-60 trame e/o a 625 linee-50 trame.
La presente Norma costituisce la ristampa senza modifiche, secondo il nuovo progetto di veste editoriale, della Norma pari numero ed edizione (Fascicolo 2716 E).
