La presente Norma tratta le prescrizioni minime di funzionamento, i metodi di prova e i risultati richiesti per l'apparecchiatura GLONASS a bordo di navi. Essa si basa sulla risoluzione IMO MSC.53(66) che usa i segnali, per la determinazione della posizione, provenienti dal sistema di navigazione via satellite GLONASS del Ministero della Difesa della Russia. La presente parte di Norma si applica alle fasi del viaggio in “other waters” come definite nella risoluzione IMO A.529.
