Questa Norma fa parte della serie IEC/EN 61188 che si occupa della progettazione ed utilizzo dei circuiti stampati.
La presente norma in particolare riguarda il fissaggio dei componenti con piedini a J sui due lati (Componenti SOJ).
La Norma fornisce i dati di dimensionamento di componenti e piazzole per circuiti integrati di piccole dimensioni. I circuiti trattati sono quelli con terminali a J sulle due facce usati nel processo di saldatura a riflusso.
La Norma fornisce le dimensioni per diversi componenti SOJ (Small outlined J ), indica la forma e le dimensioni del filetto di saldatura, e le dimensioni e tolleranze delle piazzole per i diversi componenti.
La Norma dà quindi un utile supporto per l a progettazione dei dispositivi SOJ.
Nell'uso della presente Norma si consiglia la consultazione della EN 61188-5-1.
