La presente Norma internazionale fa parte della serie EN 61249 e fornisce i requisiti delle proprietà delle lastre stratificate rinforzate in tessuto di fibra di vetro di tipo E epossidico non alogenato, di infiammabilità definita (prova di combustione verticale), ricoperti di rame.
Lo spessore dei fogli (lastre) va da 0,05 mm a 3,2 mm.
Il grado di infiammabilità si ottiene usando come ritardanti del fuoco composti organici e/o inorganici alogenati. Questi ritardanti di fiamma fanno parte integrante della struttura dica polimerica o sono aggiunti ad essa.
La temperatura di transizione del tessuto di vetro ha il valore minimo di 120° C.
Per alcuni requisiti di proprietà possono aversi diverse classi di prestazioni. In questi casi la classe va precisata nell'ordine di acquisto, altrimenti viene assegnata la classe di default.
