La presente Norma internazionale fa parte della serie IEC 61249 e fornisce i requisiti delle proprietà dei laminati stratificati in tessuto di fibra di vetro epossidico E, di infiammabilità definita (prova di combustione verticale) con rivestimento in rame.
Vengono descritti materiali , modalità costruttive, proprietà elettriche , proprietà non elettriche del rivestimento in rame e le proprietà non elettriche del materiale base dopo la rimozione del rivestimento.
Sono poi trattati gli aspetti relativi al controllo di qualità, imballaggio, marcatura ed approvvigionamento.
La presente Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua originale inglese, a causa della limitata utilizzazione, particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
La presente Norma recepisce il testo originale inglese della Pubblicazione IEC e pertanto consta delle sole pagine dispari.
Con l'emissione del Corrigendum CENELEC del settembre 2005, vengono aggiornate le informazioni riguardanti le Norme EN 60249-2-5:1994 ed EN 60249-2-12:1994, e relative Varianti, che vengono eliminate perchè sostituite dalla presente CEI EN 61249-2-7.
