La presente Norma tratta le prestazioni dei contatti a lamina magnetica per servizio gravoso in applicazioni industriali e specifica le prove di affidabilità, i poteri di chiusura e apertura nominali, le tensioni a impulso nominali, la corrente di cortocircuito condizionata nominale, la prova di riscaldamento e le prove relative alla costruzione in aggiunta alle prescrizioni della Parte 1. I contatti a lamina magnetica per servizio gravoso sono unità di contatto sigillate in vetro e comprendono i tipi sigillati ad alta pressione.
La presente Norma non si applica alle unità di contatto a lamina magnetica bagnate in mercurio.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
La presente Norma é annullata e sostituita dalla Nuova edizione, CEI EN 62246-1:2012-01 (CEI 94-13); (fasc. 11703E), tuttavia rimane applicabile fino al 17-03-2014.
