La presente Norma fornisce un metodo per la determinazione dello zolfo potenzialmente corrosivo eventualmente presente in oli dielettrici usati e nuovi.
Guasti recenti verificatisi a carico di trasformatori e reattori elettrici a causa della presenza di zolfo corrosivo negli oli isolanti sono stati causati dalla formazione di un deposito di solfuro di rame sulla superficie della carta che avvolge i conduttori di rame. La crescita di solfuro di rame sui conduttori di rame metallico può causare la formazione di particolato all’interno dell’olio, che agisce come punto di innesco per scariche elettriche conducendo quindi a guasti.
Il metodo proposto fa pertanto uso di un conduttore di rame avvolto da uno strato di carta immerso in olio riscaldato, del quale si valuta la capacità di produrre solfuro di rame e trasferirlo allo strato di carta.
