La Norma definisce i requisiti dei protocolli da utilizzarsi quando si eseguono ritrasmissioni all’interno di reti per la lettura senza fili (wireless) di contatori. Il documento costituisce un’estensione della parte 4 della UNI CEI EN 13757: in particolare esso descrive l’indirizzamento (routing) in modalità R2 ma non comprende gli indirizzamenti nelle modalità S e T. I contatori elettrici non sono coperti da questa Norma, considerando che essi sono oggetto di normazione da parte di IEC/CENELEC.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
