Fire protection authorities have worked together for the past three years to create the first fully integrated document for protecting lives in communities and jurisdictions nationwide. A joint venture between NFPA and the Western Fire Chiefs Association, the new NFPA 1: Uniform Fire Code incorporates provisions from both the Fire Prevention Code and the WFCA?s Uniform Fire Code, to create a document that serves every need:
* The Code is fully compatible with regulatory adoption procedures, with separate sections containing provisions for administration and code enforcement, occupancies, processes, equipment, and hazardous materials.
* A new chapter on performance-based design aids building officials, architects, and engineers working with innovative building solutions.
* Essential extracts and references to over 130 NFPA codes and standards make the code official?s job easier.
